The want and need are there, but keeping your weight loss goals on track is an uphill battle after a few weeks. As each day passes, life’s normal complications interfere with your daily path. Here are a few tips to keep you on track to succeed in a weight loss goal you set, but sometimes forget.
Setting a realistic goal
I love to dream big and go from 180 pounds down to 120. But it’s not going to happen overnight and not within one month. Focus on losing 5 pounds at a time, maybe even 2 pounds at a time. Collecting small wins will add up over time and amount to you hitting your overall goal.
My day is too complicated to go to the gym for 3 hours, run a 5k, cook 7star gourmet meals and soak in a sauna for 20 while getting pampered by servants. To stay on track, you have to make a habit out of what you’re doing. This is why weight loss shakes work so well, they’re easy to work in to your daily habits.
Find your motivation
Without a reason for losing weight, you’ll have no burning desire to keep going. Find an event coming up or picture yourself on the beach or by the pool with 20 less pounds on your body. Now make that happen!
Set the weekly reset ritual
This is very important! If you’re a normal person with normal problems, normal family, normal job and don’t live in the make-believe world of the rich and famous. You will lose focus before you will lose weight. At the same time, each week, have something you do to reset your focus on losing weight. This could be going for a run every Monday morning, meditating every Sunday night or cooking the healthiest meal. The point is, find something to reset the weight loss again.
Jumping on the scale is the easiest way to see if your succeeding in your weight loss goals. However, if you’re working out and building muscle, the scale may not move. So, take measurements of your body. The same measurement a seamstress or a tailor would take for a fitting. You may find, at some point, the scale stops moving but your body is shrinking.
Use these tips to keep you on the path to losing weight. I have been a person who has struggled with my weight my whole life and weight loss does not come easy. I have found what works for me and hopefully you can find what works for you.
